What we are looking for?
We’re looking for an organised and people-focused HR Administrator to play a key role in supporting our day-to-day HR operations. You’ll be working closely with our HR Manager and wider team to help ensure everyone at J&B Hopkins feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
Who you are
You’ll be someone with great organisational skills and a genuine interest in supporting people. Ideally, you’ll have some HR or admin experience and be confident communicating with people at all levels. You’ll be comfortable handling sensitive information, keeping accurate records, and juggling a varied workload.
If you have (or are working towards) CIPD Level 3, that’s a bonus—but it’s not essential. More important is your willingness to learn, your eye for detail, and your proactive, can-do attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment and onboarding activities, from drafting job ads to scheduling interviews and welcoming new starters.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
- Prepare HR documentation including offer letters, contracts, and policy updates.
- Manage employee changes such as promotions, salary adjustments, and leavers.
- Act as a first point of contact for employee HR queries.
- Support wellbeing initiatives and engagement activities.
- Assist the HR team in employee relations matters.
- Help ensure compliance with UK employment law and company policies.
- Support the coordination of training and development programmes.
- Provide general admin support across all HR activities.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident with Microsoft Word and Excel
- The ability to multi-task under tight timescales
- Very well organised
- Good note taking skills
- Capable of safeguarding confidential information
