What we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead and manage all commercial aspects of projects to ensure optimal financial performance. The Commercial Manager will act as a strategic partner, advising the Delivery team and Project Managers on contractual matters whilst ensuring projects are being delivered to plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage post-tender negotiations to convert bids into contracts.
- Oversee and maintain contract documentation while advising on both pre-tender and post-contract matters.
- Draft and issue contractual correspondence to clients and subcontractors.
- Create strong post-contract relationships with design teams and clients.
- Lead material procurement strategies
- Negotiate and formalize sub-contract agreements.
- Ensure submission of interim valuations and timely payments.
- Manage and resolve variations to optimise project value.
- Ensure correct certification of subcontractor valuations and final accounts.
- Oversee the preparation and agreement of final accounts with clients.
- Conduct cost-value reconciliations and oversee regular project financial reports.
- Monitor and evaluate project schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Drive the professional development of the commercial team as needed.
Skills & Experience:
- HNC/HND/BSc in Commercial Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High levels of self-motivation and commercial awareness.
- Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage teams and foster collaboration.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high attention to detail.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Robust negotiation skills and the ability to influence key stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work across various business areas and adjust to the dynamic demands of the role.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and adding value to the company.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable: - Previous experience in a similar role or a placement during studies.
- Some knowledge of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects.
